Job Description

Overview:
The Plant Clerk will provide a wide range of clerical support for plant involving record keeping, typing, compiling data, and data entry. Receive and distribute mail, maintain accurate personnel records, answer telephone, direct calls, and handle inquiries. Perform all clerical duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that all daily/weekly/monthly reports and logs are accurately completed in a timely manner. Audit daily production figures and promptly notify the Plant Manager of errors. Accurately prepare consolidated weekly production reports and physically verify that actual inventory and reported inventory figures are consistent. Answer phones promptly and courteously. Effectively direct calls to employees or voicemail. Assist with miscellaneous detailed HR and Safety department functions such as handing out supplies, petty cash, video surveillance, and help maintain office equipment and inventory of office supplies. May requisition offices supplies as needed. Maintain master calendar with outgoing customer shipments. Prepare load sheets and bills of lading. Confirm load assignments and establish carrier dock times. Audits bills of lading against incoming combo sheet. Greet and assist all visitors. Ensure all visitor paperwork is accurately completed and processed in a timely manner. Responsible for set up and clean-up of plant tours. Maintain a neat and clean work environment. Maintain regular communications with HR Managers, Plant Coordinator, Production Supervisor, and Maintenance Supervisor. May utilize various telecommunication devices such as telephone and radio. Will prepare and setup for tours. Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities Ability to operate a multi-line telephone console. Accurate typing and data entry skills are required. Basic math skills are required. General computer knowledge and proficiency. Basic understanding of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Demonstrated Competencies Communicate effectively with all levels of employees as necessary, both in verbal and written form. Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills. Must have regular and punctual attendance. Physical Requirements Office setting.
Experience:
One year of clerical or accounting experience is preferred.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions. Associates degree in Business Administration is preferred. Well-rounded, practical experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
