DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to provide routine administrative support in a variety of functions within an organizational department, division, section or another group.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Associate¿s degree or two (2) years of college education in a related field Two (2) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs data entry using a computer Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints Performs payroll functions, such as maintaining timekeeping information and processing and submitting payroll Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information, such as records or reports Prepares meeting agendas, attends meetings, and records and transcribes minutes Serves as purchasing coordinator, insurance coordinator, and/or safety coordinator, as assigned Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals Compiles and prepares reports and documents for internal and external use Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Some positions require availability for call-back, on-call duty, flexible hours, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, or during emergencies, as assigned All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
