WAIVER Announcement:

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year. The Attendance Clerk plays a vital role in supporting daily school operations by maintaining accurate student attendance records and ensuring compliance with district and state attendance requirements. This position serves as a primary point of contact for families regarding attendance, processes absences and tardies, prepares attendance reports, and works closely with school staff to promote student success. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, maintains confidentiality, and provides excellent customer service in a fast-paced school environment.

Position Details Hours:

6 Hours/Day

Contract Length:

190 days per year 170 student instructional days

4 holidays

7 planning days

9 extended days

Contract Adjustments:

Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status:

Full-time with benefits

Employment Type:

11-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

Documentation:

Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

2026-2027 Pay Scale

Starting Pay (Step 0): $16.46/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $20.26/hour

We value experience! New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note:

While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:

Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
