As part of its operational support team, the University employs skilled professionals who provide essential administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We're looking for an Administrative Assistant 3 to join our University of Louisiana at Lafayette team. The Administrative Assistant 3 provides advanced secretarial and administrative support to professional, supervisory, or managerial staff. This position performs duties independently and exercises a high degree of judgment and initiative when handling non-routine situations. This position resides in the Residential Life Departmen t. An ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
As an Administrative Assistant 3, you will: Respond to requests for information and interpret departmental rules, regulations, and procedures when necessary. Independently prepare and compose correspondence concerning administrative matters, office policies, and programs. Compile and prepare special reports using information gathered from reports, documents, correspondence, electronic files, and other sources. Organize and maintain files, reference materials, and records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Prepare agendas, handouts, binders, and other materials needed for meetings. Perform administrative functions such as payroll preparation, travel reports, and supply requisitions. Prepare and type a variety of correspondence, reports, tables, records, and other documents from drafts, dictation, or instructions. Prepare documents requiring knowledge and proper use of specialized terminology. Attend meetings and prepare or transcribe meeting minutes as required. Proofread documents for spelling, punctuation, typographical errors, formatting, and overall accuracy. Establish and maintain electronic files used to identify, record, and classify stored information. Extract, assemble, and merge stored information to prepare documents and reports. Provide advanced administrative and keyboarding support while exercising independent judgment and initiative in completing assignments. May provide supervision or guidance to one or two lower-level personnel.
