Job Description

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Learn more about Louisiana Department of Health This position may be filled in the following parishes: Ouachita Lead, shape, and elevate essential public services in this high-impact leadership role. As a key regional leader, you'll drive the execution of Medicaid eligibility programs—setting priorities, ensuring compliance, and continuously improving efficiency and quality across multiple locations. You'll play a vital role in budgeting, fiscal oversight, and facility management, while influencing decisions that directly affect communities. Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the supervisory level or above: Eight years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus five years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus five years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree plus four years of social services experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties:
  • Direct regional execution of Medicaid eligibility programs in alignment with federal and state regulations
  • Establish program priorities and provide guidance to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Evaluate program performance, including quality, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Implement corrective actions to address deficiencies and improve outcomes
  • Assist in preparing and determining regional annual budget requests
  • Oversee fiscal operations and physical plant management for the regional facility and branch offices
  • Serve as acting regional administrator when required, including during emergency situations
