Public Programs and Visitor Services Manager Description:
The Yiddish Book Center seeks a Public Programs and Visitor Services Manager to join this dynamic culturalanization. Founded in 1980, the Center is a nonprofitanization working to recover, celebrate, and regenerate Yiddish and modern Jewish literature and culture. Housed in an architecturally distinctive building in Amherst, MA, the Center offers an intellectually stimulating, reflective, and creative environment. The Public Programs and Visitor Services Manager plays a key role in managing public programs and visitor services and provides administrative and technical support for public events. This position reports to the Director of Publishing and Public Programs.
Qualifications:
Responsibilities Include Train and manage docents. Coordinate public and group tours. Manage the Center's space rentals, from initial inquiries through day-of-event management. Manage the administration and technical production of public programming (virtual and onsite). Coordinate logistics with presenters. Maintain the public recording archive. Record and edit podcasts and post them to the RSS feed. Update and maintain the events page on the Center's . Create and implement online registration forms. Manage and maintain public programs and visitor services spreadsheets and databases. Create and distribute eblasts for weekly programs and other related emunications. Respond to phone and email inquiries related to public programs and general visitor inquiries. Assist registrants with technical questions related to public programs. Qualifications Computer and AV tech proficiency. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills. Highly collaborative work style and the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and the general public. Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines. Intellectual curiosity and the depth necessary to understand andmunicate the Center's mission and programs. Availability for weekend and evening work. Bachelor's degree required. Familiarity with Drupal, Zoom, Shopify, and customer relationship management systems (CRMs) is a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires working at a desk and using aputer for prolonged periods. Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching. Work is primarily performed in an office environment and museum spaces. Some work may be conducted remotely. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $55,000-$60,000
