< back to job board Farm Secretary Overview Location Leominster Date posted September 2, 2026 Job type Part-time Description We are recruiting for a reliable and organised Farm Secretary on a part time, permanent self-employed basis to provide essential administrative and accounts support to a small, established farming operation based in rural Leominster. This is a varied role suited to someone who is confident in managing day-to-day administration, accounts and payroll responsibilities of a busy diverse business. What you can expect Permanent position on a self-employed basis 2-3 days per week Hourly rate - Negotiable depending on experience Rural location near Leominster Varied role with responsibility for the day-to-day administration of busy rural business What you will be doing Managing the day-to-day administrative requirements of a busy diverse agricultural business Using Xero to maintain financial records and process transactions Processing invoices and paying supplier bills Managing purchase and sales ledger administration Assisting with cash flow and general financial administration Processing wages for a small team Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records Handling correspondence, paperwork and general office administration Liaising with suppliers, contractors and other external contacts Supporting the farm management team with general administrative tasks Ensuring financial and administrative deadlines are met Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with financial and employee information What we are looking for Previous experience in a similar role within administrative, accounts or bookkeeping capacity, ideally within agriculture or similar business Confident using Xero or similar accounting software Experience processing invoices and paying bills Experience with payroll/wages would be highly beneficial Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping Good organisational and time-management skills Able to work independently and manage your own workload Confident dealing with financial information and maintaining confidentiality Good communication skills and a professional approach A practical and flexible attitude Own transport essential due to rural location Must be comfortable working on a self-employed basis
