The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking a highly qualified applicant to fill a Seasonal Administrative Aide I position ( Administrative Aide 1G ) grade G13 in the Office of Storm Drain Maintenance. This is a temporary position that is limited to a maximum of 1000 working hours. This position does not offer benefits.

About the Position This is additional staff support position and will be filled temporarily for the Spring Storm Season. There are no county benefits to this position. This is entry level secretarial/administrative type work. Good judgment and discretion are essential to the security of confidential information and data. This position is responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and receptionist duties in the Multi Modal Transportation Division within Office of Storm Drain Maintenance. Duties includes preparation of correspondence by typing prepared documents, maintenance of databases and telephone and reception activities. Work is performed under the supervision of Office Manager. About The Agency The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is responsible for nearly 2,000 miles of County-maintained roadways that range from rural to urban classifications. The transportation infrastructure includes 900 bridges, as well as shoulders, sidewalks, curbs/gutters, stormwater management facilities, driveway aprons and nearly 3,000 acres of grassy area- all of which are maintained by staff of the Department.
- Types, proofreads, and prepares correspondence and documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and professional presentation.
- Prepares correspondence and other materials for mailing, filing, distribution, and recordkeeping.
- Maintains and manages office databases, files, records, and logs, including entering, updating, deleting, and organizing information.
- Produces weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports using information maintained in office databases.
- Distributes correspondence, documents, and attachments to appropriate personnel and maintains accurate office files and records.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with coursework in typing, office practices or other related clerical subjects. One (1) year of advanced diverse and/or technical clerical experience which must have involved working with the public for at least six (6) months. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.EACH APPLICANTION MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION WHICH CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
