Marriage Preparation Coordinator St Patrick Catholic Parish Brighton, MI Part Time:
15-19 hrs/week Working closely with and reporting to the Director of Mission, the Marriage Preparation Coordinator manages the pre-marriage preparation of all engaged couples and those seeking convalidations at St. Patrick Catholic Parish. Key Responsibility Areas Administration of Marriage Preparation Answers, responds to or forwards as necessary all incoming calls, letters, voicemails, and requests regarding marriage preparation Maintains marriage preparation files, calendars, schedules, and tracks progress for those seeking marriage and convalidation at the parish, including filing dispensation and permission for marriage requests and sending complete files to outside dioceses and chanceries within established timelines Provides information and contact information for planning the Wedding Liturgy Maintains on-going communication with engaged couples and those seeking convalidation. Records marriages in sacramental register and sends marriage notices to parishes of baptism Updates marriage preparation content on the parish website and in the bulletin Orders forms and supplies for marriage preparation Implementation and Facilitation of FOCCUS Inventory Initiates the pre-marriage preparation process by coordinating FOCCUS Inventory for engaged couples and assigns trained volunteer facilitators to review FOCCUS Inventory with couples. Implementation of Witness to Love Process Facilitates execution of the Witness to Love mentor program with engaged couples and their mentors as prescribed by the Witness to Love preparation process. Facilitates, oversees, and provides support for marriage kerygma retreat in collaboration with marriage preparation coordinators in the Livingston County Deanery (as needed). Facilitates, oversees, and provides support for volunteer wedding coordinators for wedding rehearsals and wedding day ceremonies. Coordinates sacristans, servers, and sound engineers for wedding day ceremonies. Creates and oversees committee for planning and execution of annual Marriage Night.
The Ideal Candidate Must:
Be an intentional disciple of Jesus Christ, faithful to the magisterium of the Church, and passionate about making disciples of Jesus Be committed to growing in holiness through daily prayer and personal conversion Be organized and detail-oriented, able to take initiative, work in a fast-paced environment, and stick to deadlines Be comfortable using a variety of technical platforms Be approachable, affable, and capable of working well with different personalities Be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing Previous experience working in an office environment preferred To apply for the position, please submit a resume and cover letter to the online application.
