March 26, 2026 Position Summary The Administrative Assistant is responsible for interacting with the public, courts, attorneys, coworkers, and local law enforcement agencies. This is a fast paced, detail-oriented position requiring both independent and teamwork formats. A day's work may include such responsibilities as entering new cases into a software system, interacting with police officers to gather information, filing documents with attorneys, and filing documents with courts. Duties may change at the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney or Office Manager. Primary Duties Work alongside coworkers to ensure efficient office management (answering phones, inputting documents, etc.) Advance public safety through teamwork with police departments and the courts and compliance with the legal requirements for criminal prosecution. Review documents received from police, courts, and attorneys and ensure proper keeping of those records and then dissemination to necessary people. File documents with the appropriate courts. Required Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing. Education & Experience Office experience (preferred) Legal background and knowledge (preferred) Job Location/Physical Requirements This position is based in a climate-controlled office atmosphere with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This position requires occasional presence in courtrooms and similar settings, requiring a background check in addition to standard pre-employment requirements. Occasional lifting, twisting, and transferring a maximum of twenty-five pounds may be required. Must be able to traverse (with or without accommodations) between multiple floors and locations within the building.
