Leave It To Meeka is a premier event planning company specializing in creating unforgettable events. We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant.
Job Summary:
Are you hard-working and looking for an exciting and fun opportunity? Leave it to Meeka is in search of an Event Assistant to help with event planning and business-related tasks. This is a part-time, independent contractor position which could become permanent for the right candidate. The position will include light crafting, errand-running, administrative work, and onsite event support. You must be willing to work a flexible schedule, with hours that will change weekly depending on admin tasks and scheduled events in various locations.
Very important:
You must live in the Metro Detroit area for this position.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma and some college completed
  • You must live in the Metro Detroit area
  • Must be computer savvy and have experience with Google and Microsoft programs
  • Canva and similar graphic design program familiarity is a plus
  • Attention to detail and creativity are integral
  • Must have your own reliable transportation
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to work under time constraints and pressure and adapt to changing situations during the planning and execution of events
  • Impeccable organizational skills
  • Marketing skills are a plus
  • 1 to 3 years of previous experience in an event and/or administrative related role
  • Positive and energetic personality
  • Evening and weekend availability is a must
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Able to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
  • Research, phone calls and administrative work with potential vendors, venues and clients.
  • Review and create design plans, timelines, and layouts to familiarize yourself with the event details.
  • Errand running and light crafting jobs.
  • Assist with setting up event spaces, including decorations, signage, and equipment, according to the client's specifications.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings with management to ensure expectations are met.
