LAG Development is a well established construction firm specializing in Automotive Dealership design/build. We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage project financials from ground-break to close-out. Position Overview In this role, you will bridge the gap between the field and the front office. You will oversee the full financial lifecycle of our construction projects, focusing heavily on job costing, progress billing, and cost forecasting. You will act as a strategic partner to our Project Managers, ensuring tracking accuracy and identifying financial risks before they impact profitability.Key Responsibilities Job Costing & Budgeting:
Collaborate with Project Managers to set up new projects, track labor/material expenses, and analyze budget variances against initial estimates.Billing & Draw Requests:
Prepare monthly loan draw requests, process percentage-of-completion progress billings, and manage accounts receivable.Compliance & Retainage:
Oversee subcontractor documentation, track retainage, verify compliance, and manage lien waivers.Change Order Management:
Act as the financial gatekeeper for change orders, assessing their necessity and calculating bottom-line financial impacts.Month-End Close:
Maintain the general ledger, complete bank reconciliations, and compile monthly financial reports for executive review.Qualifications & Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Or, 3+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with a strong preference for dedicated construction or real estate accounting.Software Proficiency:
Excel and Word profecientSoft Skills:
