Job Description
Founded in 2003, as an independent diagnostic testing company, NDS Wellness has become the fastest growing provider in the metropolitan Detroit and tri-county area. We are a multi-specialty group specializing in cardiology, neurology, and radiology testing services to primary care practices. NDS Wellness consists of board certified physicians and a qualified staff that have more than twenty-five years of experience in testing, screening and allied medical services. We provide the highest level of diagnostic testing that offers convenience and the reliability physicians require for their patients. Position Description NDS is searching for an entry level Medical Office Assistant to assist with administrative duties and cardiograms for a medical diagnostic company in Novi, MI. We are looking for candidates that want to learn and grow in the industry. A successful medical office assistant handles non-clinical administrative tasks in a medical setting, supporting both patients and healthcare providers. They will work with the cardiogram team to manage records, handle patient communications, and assist with billing and insurance processes. To be a successful office assistant, you should be very personable and enjoy interacting with patients and physicians in a positive way. Candidates should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills which allow them to act as a point of contact for questions and relay information to the cardiogram team. Duties include preparing medical records, communicating with patients and scheduling appointments.
Schedule:
Full Time 32 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday). 8:30am to 5pm with 30 minute lunch.Office Assistant Responsibilities/Duties Patient Record Management:
Uploading ultrasound paperwork into the PACS system, updating medical records, gathering patient histories, and ensuring accurate documentation.Communication:
Taking and relaying messages, sending lab results, and communicating with patients and providers.Patient Interaction:
Answering phones and providing general information.Recordkeeping:
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.Data Entry:
Entering patient information into electronic health records (EHRs) systems.Scheduling and Managing Appointments:
Booking, confirming, and rescheduling patient appointments.Insurance and Billing:
Verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and handling billing inquiries.Clerical Duties:
Performing general office tasks like filing, copying, and faxing.Computer Skills:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, & Teams), Adobe (PDF's), and the ability to learn new programs and useEMR & PACS
systems.Multi Tasking:
Being able to triage priorities, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion. Assist in other departments during slow periods. Cardiogram Responsibilities/Duties Creating and maintaining logs and spreadsheets. Using the PACS system to verify and manage images. Communicating and following up with nurses and technicians. Calling and interacting with nurses and doctors on a case-by-case basis. Communicating with the transcription department as needed. Uploading and emailing out results securely in a timely manner.Education Requirements Required:
High school diploma/GED required. Degree or certification in Healthcare a plus! Experience Requirements 1 to 2 years of experience working in an office. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to stay on task and complete repetitive tasks. Experience maintaining patient records preferred. Healthcare experience a plus! Desired Qualities Strong planning and organizational skills: You will need to be highly organized and able to perform a range of time-sensitive tasks. Some tasks will be repetitive.Superior attention to detail:
Recording patient information correctly is vital for accurate health records. Doctors and insurers both depend on factual and correct records.Strong understanding of technology:
The ability to learn how to use office and medical software such as electronic health records.Excellent communication skills:
You will need to relay information to patients and staff members and maintain confidentiality.A friendly and courteous personality:
It is vital that this person is well presented and professional and leaves the patient or client with a positive first impression.Location:
