Senator Gary C. Peters Pontiac, Michigan U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a highly-motivated, organized Regional Coordinator for either his Southeast Michigan Regional Office located in Pontiac, MI or his Bay Regional Office located in Flint, MI. Working with the Senator's State Director and Regional Directors, the Regional Coordinator's primary duties include handling office administrative tasks, including among other things, answering phones, opening mail, drafting and coordinating correspondence, and managing the office's internship program. The Regional Coordinator also assists with representing the Senator at meetings and public events, as assigned by the Regional Directors. The position requires some travel to communities throughout either the Southeast Michigan region or the Bay region, depending on placement. This includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends. The Southeast Michigan Regional Coordinator would be responsible for work and some travel within Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Lapeer, and Sanilac counties. The Bay Regional Coordinator would be responsible for work and some travel within Genesee, Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Isabella, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Huron, Montcalm, and Gratiot counties. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, flexible, able to multitask and prioritize, and works well under pressure. The candidate should have familiarity with the region and an interest in constituent services and public policy. A background or experience with government or customer service is preferred, and strong writing and grammar skills are a must. To be successful, the candidate should be both self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working as part of a large, highly-coordinated team.
