Job Description
I Need Another Capable Human in My Corner Westland, MI | Hybrid | Approximately 8-10 hours/week to start $20-$25/hour I'm looking for someone who wants extra work, extra responsibility, and the opportunity to grow with the role. This isn't a traditional executive assistant job. I'm running multiple businesses and projects while managing the normal responsibilities of life. I need another capable person in the operation…someone organized enough to keep things moving and independent enough to take ownership. Five things matter to me more than anything: Communication Consistency Compassion Chemistry Curiosity Communicate. Ask questions. Tell me what changed. Say something when something isn't working. Be consistent. Show up. Follow through. I don't chase. Have enough compassion to understand that you're working alongside a neurodivergent human being, not simply managing a calendar or completing a task list. Chemistry matters. We're going to work closely together, and the way we think, communicate, and solve problems has to click. And be curious. Ask why. Want to understand how things connect. Learn me, learn the operation, and don't be afraid to dig into something you don't know.
HOW WE'LL WORK
The way I think about the operation is pretty simple: Prioritize — Figure out what actually matters. Plan — Decide what needs to happen, when, and who's responsible. Plant — Protect my bandwidth so I can stay planted on what I'm supposed to be doing. Perform — Execute, follow through, and keep things moving. That's the kind of person I'm looking for, too.THE WEEKLY ANCHOR
At the beginning of each week, we'll spend 3-5 hours together in person reviewing the operation and making the plan. We'll look at: Personal and business priorities Overviews Budgets and money Inventory and products coming in Products being flipped, rented, or soldPosting:
products, videos, ads and content. The calendar and upcoming appointments Scheduling and prioritizing medical, veterinary, household, and personal needs...keeping them on my radar. Loose ends from the previous week Anything else that needs our attention Then we'll figure out what actually needs to happen. We'll organize my priorities, the business priorities, and your priorities for the week. The goal is to leave with a clear plan.REMOTE RHYTHM
Outside of our weekly in-person session, the remaining work and daily check-ins are primarily remote. Morning check-in — approximately 15-20 minutes What's happening today? What changed? What matters most? Evening check-in — approximately 15-20 minutes What got done? What's still hanging? What needs follow-up? What's the plan for tomorrow? Between check-ins, there will be communication and follow-up as needed.WHO I'M LOOKING FOR
I'm not necessarily looking for the stereotypical corporate executive assistant. You might be:
A nanny looking for another client or additional work A mom who has developed incredible organizational skills and, keep everything moving A stage manager who can coordinate twenty things at once An event manager who's used to keeping people, timing, details, and moving pieces together A bartender or hospitality who jungles 14 things A freelancer or office manager Or simply the person everyone calls when something needs to get figured out Your previous job title matters less to me than how you operate. Can you:
Organize things? Think ahead? Follow through? Take ownership? Communicate when something changes instead of going quiet? Ask questions instead of just waiting for instructions? Ask, "What's next?" when you finish something? Because I have plenty of next.THE DETAILS
Starting pay: $20-$25/hour, based on experience Starting schedule: Approximately 8-10 hours per week Growth potential: If we find ourselves a good fit, each business has different needs. You may fit some of them.Location:
Hybrid, with regular in-person work inWestland Trial:
Paid trial period A portion of the in-person work is based out of my home workshop/studio in Westland. I'm looking for someone who wants to build a working relationship, learn the operation, and take on more as there's more to take on.WHAT I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT I
don't care if your previous title was "Executive Assistant." I care about communication, consistency, compassion, chemistry, and curiosity. I care whether you notice, think, organize, follow through, take ownership, and care about the work we're doing. If I tell you something once and you build a system around it? That's gold. If you see a problem and solve it before I know about it? Even better .INTERVIEW PROCESS
We'll start with a short video interview to see if there's a natural working fit. If we both think there's something worth pursuing, we'll move to a face-to-face interview. I'm looking for a capable person who wants more. Not someone to sit around and wait for instructions. Someone who wants to get in, figure things out, and help build something.Pay:
