(Purpose of the Position): To provide clerical office support for staff, support campus dialogue work, assist in podcast production, perform website maintenance, advertise and support IFC events.Transferable Skills:
The Office Assistant will develop communication and dialogue facilitation skills, develop skills working with visual and social media, and will learn to prioritize work projects, problem solve, meet deadlines, and interact with co-workers on collaborative work projects.Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with office needs and programming Work on campus dialogue projects and take a leadership role in dialogue facilitation Assist with advertising and marketing IFC events Work on the IFC podcast, website, and other projects as needed Develop content for IFC newsletter, social media, and blog postsQualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills) Strong listening, writing and communications skills and willingness to learn Willingness to constructively engage with others with different perspectives Ability to take responsibility for projects and communicate effectively with other student workers, supervisor, and staff members to update them on projects Working knowledge of and/or willingness to learn Google Docs, Adobe InDesign, WordPress, Asana, and related tools Ability to get along with a variety of people in the workplace Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure with deadlines Ability to come to work when scheduled, and work consistently and efficiently to meet deadlines Able to follow through and communicate project status with co-workers and supervisor Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, be professional, dependable, hardworking, trustworthy and discrete Preferred qualifications College van certification (if eligible) This job description is for general information purposes.
