Job Description
Description The Perham Focus has been delivering award-winning local news to Perham, MN and the surrounding communities since 1881. Its best-in-class journalism has earned the publication multiple awards over the years from the Minnesota Newspaper Association. The Perham Focus is part of Forum Communications Company, a 5th-generation family-owned media company with 20+ publications across the Upper Midwest that collectively deliver local news to more than 5 million readers every month. Job Summary Assists supervisor with organization of meetings, records, and other projects as needed. The Schedule is 10 am -1 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Essential Functions Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate files to correspondence to be answered by the employer. Composes and types correspondence. Files correspondence and other records. Answers telephone, makes appointments, gives information to callers or routes calls to appropriate official and places outgoing calls. Greets visitors. Prepares and records minutes of staff meetings. Makes copies of correspondence or other printed matter. Prepares outgoing mail. Oversees projects assigned and helps coordinate meetings and other employee events. Maintain prompt and reliable attendance. Qualifications Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Exceptional oral and written skills and attentive to detail. Self-motivated and possess good analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by the company. Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company. Expected compensation for this role is between $17 - $18/hr, based on qualifications and experience.
