- This position is temporary; the position is expected to last up to six (6) months.
- As a Mailroom Associate, you will provide a high level of comprehensive mailroom services to the Department of Human Services (DHS).
This will include sorting and delivering mail and packages and providing a high level of customer service in a professional, efficient and timely manner to all internal and external customers. This role may also serve as an initial representative of DHS by greeting DHS guests, answering questions and responding to informational requests from the general public, and assisting callers and walk-in visitors in any way they can to help them address their needs. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: Receive and sort incoming Federal US Mail. Sort and prepare mail to be sent out through the USPS, Spee-Dee Delivery, UPS and FedEx systems. Assist business areas with large mailings or complex shipping needs. Delivery and pick up of mail and other materials to DHS Central Office locations. Sort inter-office mail being distributed through DHS Central Office, out-state, counties and other state agencies. Provide back-up services to Information Desks and Reception Areas as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

- Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders via email, in person, or over the phone.
English language skills in writing, speaking, and reading sufficient to compose correspondence with accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation and to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to accurately type information into various formats. Physical Demands sufficient to stay on your feet for multiple hours at a time, and to carry boxes that weigh up to 70 pounds routinely. Possession of Valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of DHS programs and organizational structures. Knowledge of data privacy standards. Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures. Physical Requirements Standing for multiple hours at a time. Lifting up to 70 lbs.
