Job Description

Hiring Department TV Station Job Description The Missouri School of Journalism is seeking a Business Support Specialist II to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across the KOMU 8 news station and Journalism Professions. This role is ideal for a detailed-oriented, service-driven, and reliable professional who thrives in a fast-paced academic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for KOMU 8: answer phones, greet visitors and provide front desk coverage. Provide clerical, project and task support to the KOMU 8 news team and Journalism Professions.
Coordinate meetings and appointments:
schedule, prepare materials, take minutes, and track attendance. Assist with staff searches and onboarding new hires. Maintain the checkout system for cameras and equipment. Manage the schedule and maintenance of the KOMU 8 vehicle fleet and maintain the checkout system for fuel cards. Coordinate and support events and provide onsite facilitation, including campus visitors, engagement events, and student group trips.
Fiscal Handle fiscal tasks:
coordinate travel, purchase supplies, process bills, deposit checks, contracts and reimbursements, and prepare and reconcile monthly financial reports. Manage payroll processing and serve as the point of contact with STRIPES Shared Services to process and track HR-related forms for hourly students and part-time personnel. Work closely with the School's Fiscal Officer with other fiscal needs.
School-wide:
Provide backup support to administrative professionals. Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong organizational, communication and customer-service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and professionalism. Proficient in administrative, financial and office systems. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Why join Us? Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
$17.40 - $23.85 per hour
