Job Description

Mehlville Fire Protection District is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Assistant to join its Administration team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interfacing with others, staying organized, and providing essential support for day-to-day business operations. Job Responsibilities:

Welcome visitors, employees, vendors, and guests with a friendly, positive demeanor Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, taking and relaying messages as needed Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages. Coordinate outgoing mail and courier/delivery services Provide directions to visitors and delivery vendors based on established procedures Manage attorney/patient requests for Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and Fire reports Provide information to third-party EMS billing company (payments, correspondence, liens, lien releases, etc.) Order supplies for offices, engine houses, and employees Accumulate credit card receipts and summarize for monthly payment Manage petty cash Make registration and travel arrangements for conferences and trainings Perform general administrative support or other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Office or Business Administration and two or more years' experience in an administrative role (or an equivalent education and experience) Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe Proficient with office equipment (copier, postage meter, etc.) Experience with supply ordering and inventory control Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus Familiarity with accounting software is a plus Punctual and dependable. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in confidential matters. Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 am

Wages:

$26.44

•$31.25 per hour ($55,000

•$65,000 annually)
