Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Public Works Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical, and administrative support in order to ensure that services related to Public Works are provided in an effective and efficient manner. General duties include but are not limited to typing, filing, reception, and telephone duties. The Administrative Assistant will work in an office environment in a mostly sedentary position. Light lifting will be occasionally required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Customer Service and regular attendance are essential functions of this job. Receive, direct, and relay telephone messages and fax messages Welcomes visitors, determines nature of business, assists, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel Assist staff with administrative duties as requested File and retrieve documents, records, and reports Print and mail invoices to customers Assist customers with billing questions Compose and type official correspondence and reports Maintain accurate daily accounting of fees and other revenue Maintain office inventory and supplies and prepare purchase order requests Distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and citizens. Other duties as assigned.
