Part-Time / 24 hours per week

Reports To:

Executive Director The Administrative Assistant plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations, administrative workflow, and community life of our Congregation. This position serves as a point of contact for members, leadership, visitors, and vendors. The ideal candidate is warm, highly organized, detail-oriented, service-minded, proactive and capable of managing confidential information with discretion while fostering a welcoming atmosphere. By managing the details, the Administrative Assistant frees up the Executive Director to focus on our Congregation's goals and mission. Required Qualifications Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong and professional written and verbal communication abilities. High attention to detail Consistent follow-through in all duties Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Computer proficiency with all Microsoft software Flexibility, warmth, grace under pressure, and exceptional interpersonal skills Comfort in learning and utilizing new technology Familiarity with Jewish traditions Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Highly personable both on the phone and in person Success in

This Role Looks Like:

Meetings and events are well organized and run smoothly. Tasks are completed accurately and on time. Communication flows efficiently across the office. Administrative burden on Executive Director is reduced. Organizational data stays accurate and up to date. Follow-through is consistent and reliable. Key Responsibilities Answer phones and greet visitors with a customer service approach. Schedule weekly off-duty police and security staff for security during services Provide timely and accurate administrative support to the Executive Director including prioritizing inquiries and requests. Prepare and print weekly Shabbat bulletins, service announcements, prayer sheets, and event programs. Order supplies and maintain inventory levels Maintain synagogue databases, records, and reports Generate notices to members regarding yahrzeits and other important dates Assist congregants with membership inquiries, event registrations, and general information Manage cemetery and memorial board records and coordinate related transactions and communications. Coordinate kiddush sponsorships and work with caterers for weekly and special events. Assist with special projects as needed. Work Environment & Hours Typical schedule is a weekly total of 24 hours over Tuesday- Friday, 10am - 4pm, with occasional requirements for additional hours during High Holy Days or major synagogue events. Office is closed on Shabbat and major Jewish and secular holidays. Hourly rate of $25 per hour Additional hours may be needed in preparation for the major Jewish holidays Free onsite parking; near ART bus routes Response Instructions
