Franklin County is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our Social Services team as an Office Assistant III. This role is essential to ensuring that residents receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support.
Compensation:
$32,799-36,079 •To Be Determined Based on Experience and Qualifications•

General knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices. General knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and specialized vocabulary; ability to proofread. General knowledge of office accounting and record keeping procedures, mathematics and their application in the work environment. Ability to learn and apply a variety of guidelines applicable to the work process. Ability to use a variety of office equipment. Ability to work with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties. Ability to record and compile information based on general guidelines. Ability to balance and reconcile figures. Ability to screen communications based on predetermined guidelines. Ability to gather and give information and instructions regarding the work process and procedures. Ability to learn to use specialized office equipment. May require ability to coordinate work of other support staff, student workers or volunteers. The main purpose of this unit is to provide clerical support to the Administrative Services Division, Director and general public. Types of activities and services provided include a variety of ongoing work functions that include a diversity of records, reports and filing activities, public contact, providing general information to the public, office equipment operation, composition, preparing and maintaining files and records. An employee in this position performs a variety of administrative support duties for an assigned division. Work includes word processing, data entry, filing, serving as receptionist, mail clerk, switchboard operator. Employee will relay information, and/or records maintenance work. The employee is expected to have a general understanding of county and departmental programs and policies. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Personnel Technician II or Program Administrator in the assigned division and its evaluated through observation and periodic conferences on the quality and effectiveness of work completed. Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
