Job Description

Administrative Assistant / Police Department Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, is seeking a responsible candidate for a full-time position to provide administrative support to the office of the Chief of Police. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: organize & maintain files, maintenance of financial and/or personnel records, assisting with preparation of payroll and processing of purchase orders, checking & approving invoices/vouchers, collecting & depositing money, compose intra-office memorandums & prepare administrative correspondence, communicate effectively with other Township employees and the public, maintain petty cash account, assist with invoicing and billing for outside employment vendors, and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police. The successful applicant must be organized and a self-starter; strong computer skills required including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Edmunds Finance Software is a plus; must have a positive attitude and strong customer service skills; the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task is essential. The position requires a high level of confidentiality. A high school diploma is required, but college degree preferred along with Municipal experience.
