The Administrative Officer position is located within the Office of the Director and serves as office manager and liaison between the VISN and surrounding facilities within the network, providing all aspects of administrative support for the executive leadership of a complex health care system. This position reports to the Health System Specialist (HSS) to the Medical Center Director in East Orange, NJ.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
One year specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include providing overall administrative management and assistance for an executive office, interpreting policies, streamlining procedures, and supporting leadership objectives. Skilled in resolving workflow issues, adapting processes in emergency situations, and making independent decisions. Proficient with Microsoft Office software for data management and reporting. Able to develop effective working relationships and clearly communicate complex information in writing, with strong attention to detail. EDUCATION
A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. in a related field from an accredited institution that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
