Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Front Desk Administrative Assistant to join our busy behavioral health center in Cedar Knolls, NJ. This role is ideal for someone with prior medical office experience who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and providers—both in person and by phone Manage and coordinate patient scheduling in an efficient and thoughtful manner Support clinicians with daily administrative needs Handle a high volume of calls, including urgent and new patient inquiries, with professionalism and care Assist patients with medication refills, payments, and medical record requests Maintain accurate records and ensure smooth day-to-day front desk operations
Qualifications:
Required:
Prior experience working in a medical office Strong organizational and multitasking skills Comfortable with technology and electronic systems (EHR/EMR experience preferred; experience with Valant is a plus) Familiarity with medical terminology or ability to learn quickly Excellent communication skills with a warm, professional, and empathetic demeanor Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Comfortable handling high call volume and working with patients in emotional or urgent situations Experience in behavioral or mental health settings

Schedule:
Mon-Thurs, 8:30 am•5:30 pm, Fri 8:30 am•4:30 pm
Job Type:
Full-Time (In-Person)
Pay:
$20•25/hr, depending on experience
Benefits:
10 PTO days, 5 holidays, health insurance, 401k opportunities after a year of employment.
