FirstEnergy About the Opportunity This is an open position with Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [JCPL] This is an Afternoon -Shift position with Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. This posting is for a Clerk II position in the Distribution Control Center in Holmdel, NJ. The hours are 3pm-11pm Sunday-Monday, Thursday- Saturday. (Tuesday & Wednesday off). Assigned hours are subject to change based on business needs. The starting pay for this role as a Clerk II is $26.89 and the top rate is $33.59 .
Responsibilities:
Regularly and customarily performs routine clerical or other related work assigned. This includes the following together with other related and incidental work: Performs a variety of clerical duties such as: sorts and distributes mail and other material, compiles data and enters or accesses automated or manual records, copies facts or figures from one record to another, makes compilations, files, collates and assists clerks of higher grade. May be required to prepare, maintain enter or access operating records, logs, statistical records, transmittal forms, records, charts, lists, etc. and have a working knowledge of Company policy and its specific application in the department to which the employee is assigned. May be required to make routine adjustments to any differences related to daily cash reports, requiring some contact with banks and customers. May be required to do data entry and processing and transcribe dictation • from recording devices, as well as record meeting minutes; and operate any office equipment including personal and mainframe computer, typewriter and auxiliary devices. Handles telephones calls and schedules appointments. May have messenger responsibilities. When work with this job classification is temporarily interrupted or delayed, employees may be assigned to other work within the same occupational group. In emergency conditions, may be assigned to work which employee may be reasonably expected to perform with safety to self and others.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Minimum two (2) years of pertinent and qualifying experience and/or training in a similar type and line of work. Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test Must interact in a professional and courteous manner with customers, coworkers, and management at all times. Must exercise a moderate degree of judgement under direct supervision.
