Pay Transparency:
The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. A Typical Day The Radiology Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, scheduling, and operational support for the Radiology Department. This position is responsible for managing patient scheduling activities, monitoring EPIC work queues, coordinating workflow among inpatient units, the Emergency Department, Interventional Radiology, outpatient services, and radiology modalities, while supporting departmental quality, turnaround time (TAT), and customer service goals.
System Operations :
Maintained daily proficiency in Epic, Snapboard, and PACS to coordinate scheduling for IR, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac and Fluoroscopy.
Patient Coordination :
Greeted arriving patients, managed safe holding areas, and facilitated communication with clinical modalities and families.
Pre-Registration & Compliance :
Verified prescriptions, confirmed pre-op lab readiness, secured missing documentation, and completed demographic data collection.
Workflow Management :
Monitored imaging work queues and InBasket messages to optimize patient throughput and meet turnaround time (TAT) metrics.
Clinical Team Support :
Printed scripts, managed oral contrast distribution, and coordinated daily assignments directly with Radiology and Fluoroscopy teams.
Data & Media Management :
Processed incoming/outgoing medical records, including importing and burning CDs, according to release protocols.
Communications :
Managed high-volume phone queues, maintained strict telephone etiquette, and logged voicemails using designated tracking tools.
Process Improvement :
Collaborated with leadership to identify workflow barriers, attend management meetings, and implement service delivery enhancements.
Department Logistics :
Monitored supply inventory to ensure necessary restocking and communicated real-time operational concerns to supervisors.
To Be Considered Required:
HS Diploma Minimum one year prior radiology/medical experience in a health care facility Requires minimum 2 years experience in registration. Minimum one-year prior radiology/medical experience in a health care facility Knowledge and implementation of customer service skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and CT, X-ray, MRI, US protocols and preps. Knowledge of EPIC and McKesson
PACS, TRS
Knowledge of downtime procedures for all computer systems. Knowledge of basic computer skills- with emphasis on Microsoft applications
Preferred:
Data Entry/Computer Skills, excellent organizational and communications skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
