This part-time position reports to the Faculty Coordinator for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), and also supports the Faculty Coordinator for The Honors Program. The Office Assistant performs general clerical functions, data entry for various college platforms, interfaces with various college offices, divisions and departments on behalf of PTK and The Honors Program as well as provides appropriate level student support. Summer, evening, and weekend availability may be required from time to time and with advance notice.
Example of Duties:
Perform data entry for purchasing, accounts payable, travel, work orders, catering, and related college forms/processes. Provide primary support to college advisors/students. Interface with IT department regarding desktops/TutorTrac and related college platforms. Manage office supplies, including all student handouts. Answer phones, greet and help students with questions, and resolve basic concerns regarding the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society (PTK)/Honors Program (HP). Word-process documents, edit and proofread when necessary, and prepare mailing lists. Monitor PTK and The Honors Program email boxes; prepare standardized responses on behalf of the supervisor(s) as required. Maintain, update, and distribute PTK and The Honors Program student handbooks. Maintain clerical records and obtain required reports for both PTK/Honors Program. Copy, organize, and file materials for distribution to students in PTK/HP. Clean the computers/wipe down keyboards. Perform data entry into Colleague for PTK/Honors students. Interface with Registrar and the Office of Institutional Research for reporting of PTK and The Honor Program. Participate in planning for PTK/Honors Program events and projects. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university required. Twenty-four (24) credits in a Bachelor degree program may be substituted for an associate degree. Experience with Phi Theta Kappa or an Honors Program preferred. Office 365 Suite required. Demonstrate professional office experience preferred. Experience interacting with students and faculty preferred. Summer, evenings, and weekend availability are required on an as-needed basis. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $18

Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)
