Job Description

Posting Details The Facilities Management Division is responsible for management of more than 6.8 million square feet of space in over 800 buildings with an estimated replacement value of nearly $1.5 billion. The Division¿s Capital Projects Bureau manages capital projects of varying size throughout the state utilizing both in-house resources and contracted services to perform duties and responsibilities related to construction project management. Projects include the development and construction of new buildings and major renovations and improvements, as well as alterations, redesigning, and remodeling or reconstruction of state buildings under FMD¿s jurisdiction. This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. Why does the job exist? The Capital Project Administrator supports the delivery of design and construction projects for state facilities from project initiation through completion. The position assists with contract documentation, tracks project and contractor activities, maintains project records, and provides communication and updates to agency partners throughout the life of a project. How does it get done?
The key responsibilities include:
Assist FMD Project Managers with reviewing contract documents, invoices and procurement documents to ensure compliance with project requirements. Prepare project reports, updates and performance metrics for FMD Project Managers and agency stakeholders, identifying areas requiring corrective action. Maintain organized project documentation and provide administrative support throughout all phases of capital projects, including project closeout. Who are the customers? All executive branch state agencies under FMD's Jurisdiction, and State of NM building occupants. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a current valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Cours Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Fast paced office setting with firm deadlines and regular interaction with state agencies, contractors and building professionals.
