Job Description

Overview Westchester Technology Group is looking for a well-rounded Tier 2 Technician to join our Projects team. This is the group that handles new client onboarding, deployments, and builds out the systems our clients depend on every day. You'll work directly with our Director of Information Systems on both day-to-day escalations and larger long-term projects.

This is a growth role. We hire people with a solid support/systems foundation and coach them into full systems administrators over time. If you already tinker with tech on your own time — a home lab, any side projects — you'll fit right in. We are looking for someone who is a self-started, excels at multi-tasking, coachable, and is excited about new technology. Responsibilities Take escalated help desk tickets and cover overflow when the queue gets heavy Assist with end-to-end onboarding tasks of new clients Set up, deploy, and manage devices from a range of platforms (including Microsoft Intune/Entra/Defender, RMM tools, and security-related appliances) Own the client-facing side of deployments and onboardings: proactively calling clients to schedule work, keeping projects moving, and following through to completion Manage client domains (DNS records, renewals) Help document processes and build SOP/runbooks/protocols as we add to the stack Handle VIP and custom requests promptly and professionally What we're looking for 1+ year in help desk, field tech, or a similar hands-on Tier 1 IT role Strong Windows and Microsoft 365 fundamentals; basic networking Confident on the phone — patient with clients, but willing to drive the conversation and own scheduling rather than wait to be asked Coachable, curious, and self-directed; you pick things up on your own Solid troubleshooting and time management; works well independently and on a team Willingness to expand on your knowledge base Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (you'll travel to client sites) A plus Personal tech projects, a home lab, or certs in progress (A+, Network+, MS-900, etc.) In your application, tell us about one tech project you've built on your own — a home lab, an automation, anything you made because you wanted to.
