Part-Time (approximately 15-18 hours per week) Position Summary The Part-Time Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the church office. This individual serves as one of the first points of contact for parishioners, visitors, volunteers, and vendors, offering friendly, professional, and compassionate service while maintaining confidentiality and supporting the mission of the church. Essential Responsibilities Welcome and assist parishioners, visitors, and callers in a courteous and professional manner. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence. Maintain church records, databases, and filing systems. Prepare letters, bulletins, newsletters, forms, and other church communications. Schedule meetings, reserve rooms, and maintain church calendars. Assist with sacramental records, registrations, and other parish documentation. Receive and distribute mail and deliveries. Order and maintain office supplies. Process donations, invoices, and other administrative paperwork as assigned. Provide administrative support for church ministries, committees, and special events. Coordinate volunteer schedules and provide general office support. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive parish and personnel information. Perform other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or administrative training preferred. Previous administrative or office experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office technology. Ability to learn church management software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Friendly, welcoming, and service-oriented demeanor. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a church, nonprofit, or faith-based organization. Familiarity with parish operations and sacramental record keeping. Physical Requirements Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry office materials up to 25 pounds. Operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and telephones. Work Schedule This is a part-time position, generally 15-18 hours per week , Monday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 AM-12:30 PM. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special parish events. Mission Commitment The Administrative Assistant is expected to support the mission and values of the church by treating all parishioners and visitors with respect, kindness, and professionalism while contributing to a welcoming and faith-filled office environment.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
