Part-Time, 20 Hours per Week About Us The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Local 3 NY Ithaca Chapter Fringe Benefit Funds Office administers the Health and Welfare, Pension, and Annuity Funds for BAC Local 3 NY members throughout the Ithaca and Binghamton regions. Located in Ithaca's growing West End, our office plays an essential role in helping union members and their families access and maintain their benefits. Position Summary The BAC Local 3 NY Ithaca Chapter Fringe Benefit Funds Office is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Benefits Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our busy benefits office. This position works closely with the Benefits Administrator and is responsible for a variety of administrative, customer service, and accounting-related tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills who enjoys helping people and working in a professional office environment. Responsibilities Prepare and distribute letters, notices, and other correspondence Maintain and organize office files, records, and member documentation Answer phones and direct calls appropriately Respond to member inquiries regarding benefits and eligibility Perform data entry and record maintenance Process and track employer benefit contributions and collections Assist with account balancing and reconciliations Process vendor invoices and payments Maintain accurate financial, benefits, and membership records Assist with daily office operations and administrative projects Provide general support to the Benefits Administrator QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalent Previous administrative or office support experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel Ability to learn and utilize QuickBooks Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information professionally Preferred Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, banking, or accounts payable Prior construction industry office experience Experience with benefit administration, payroll reporting, or union-related organizations Benefits Competitive pay Part-time 20 hours per week Flexible scheduling Opportunity for Individual health insurance coverage Paid Sick Time Supportive, professional work environment Equal Opportunity Employer Quick and straightforward interview process Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
