Russell Sage College is a dynamic, comprehensive college which serves traditional students and working professionals who pursue bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees on campuses in Troy and Albany, NY. Many online programs are also offered. Creating one of the region's largest private higher education institutions with the broadest catalog of programs in the health professions and strong programs in education, business, criminal justice, the sciences, pre-med, pre-health, and arts and humanities, Russell Sage College and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) plan to merge. Russell Sage and ACPHS will collaborate over the next several years to create a plan to merge their academic portfolios and develop a facilities and people strategy, addressing workforce needs. This administrative assistant supports the faculty and staff of the Performing Arts department and the Theatre Institute at Sage (TIS) in the daily operation of an active department, specifically focused on the Troy campus supporting the Theater and Musical Theater programs (collectively referred to as The Theatre Institute at Sage). The position provides the following administrative support: Scheduling of space for student use, campus events, and external rentals Maintaining of department budgets Purchasing of supplies Processing reimbursements and payments Hiring, training, and supervising work study students The position also supports the Theatre Institute at Sage, the college's educational theatre company in the following capacities: Occasional weekend and night shifts to manage the box office Familiarity with POS systems is ideal (TouchNet, Clover) Assisting in the designing, development, and distribution of posters, programs, and press releases Overseeing and training work study students to be Box Office and Front of House staff for shows Requesting and completing show licensing contracts The estimated wage is $19.25 per hour for 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks (12 months).
Requirements:
A successful candidate will also have the following skills: Highly effective organizational skills A positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others Professionalism Self-motivation and ability to work independently Experience with parts of the Adobe Design suite (Photoshop, Publisher, Express) and website design Previous experience working in a theatre environment (A B.A. in Theatre Arts or Business/Management)
