Job Description
The goal of this position is to give a current BGSU student an introduction to the world of collegiate athletics administration. In the business office, the employee will be responsible for processing payments, reviewing expense reports, assisting with long-term fiscal year budgeting, working directly with coaches and staff, and more. This position provides hands-on experience with the financial and administrative operations that support a Division I athletics department while helping the student develop valuable professional skills. The student worker will also have opportunities to assist with special projects and gain exposure to a variety of business functions within collegiate athletics. Career Readiness Competencies Take initiative to learn new tools, systems, or procedures on the job. Adjust tone and approach based on audience (e.g., peers vs. supervisors). Break down tasks into steps to complete work more efficiently. Build positive working relationships across campus departments. Use campus tools and systems effectively to complete job tasks. Audit department expense reports in Chrome River Submit requisitions and receiving reports for department purchases made through Falcons Purch Assist with fiscal year financial planning Provide support to full-time staff members Work directly with coaches and staff members to assist with business office related needs Attend meetings when class schedule permits Other duties as assigned Enrolled as a student at BGSU Excellent written and oral communication skills Accounting, finance, or other related major preferred This role may be eligible for academic credit, subject to approval by the student's academic program or college.
