Job Description

Position:
Attendance Coordinator An attendance officer is essential for the smooth running of a school and the safeguarding of students. The Attendance Coordinator is responsible for implementation of the school's attendance policies and procedures which are designed to further Promise Academy's mission to: Recognize each student's right to an education that prepares them for post-secondary success Educate and graduate students that have not been successful in a traditional high school Provide flexible and individualized learning experiences Provide meaningful relationships with caring adults and engaging programming
I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES
Responsible for daily administrative tasks of the high school, such as answering phones and email, taking notes, forwarding calls, maintaining student attendance and absences, correspondence with families and other school districts, greeting and guiding visitors, assisting administrators and teachers, and other duties as assigned.
II. CLASSIFICATION
Full Time, 12-month Employee
III. POSITIONS RELATIONSHIPS
a.
Reports to:
Operations Manager b.
Coordinates with:
Principal, Operations Manager, and building staff c.
Type of Coordination:
As directed by administrator or others with coordination responsibilities
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
a.
Desired training and experience:
High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree in related field preferred. Prior experience as a receptionist or in a related field. Consistent, professional dress and manner. Excelled written and verbal communication skills. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good time management skills.
V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Greet students and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude. b. Helping maintain workplace security by issuing, checking, and collecting badges as necessary and maintaining visitor logs. c. Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls in a professional manner while using excellent customer service skills. d. Helping with the enrollment process and collecting proper paperwork. e. Entering daily attendance and absences and generating attendance reports and mailings regarding truancy. f. Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying, faxing, scanning, filing, and taking notes. g. Assisting administration team with various tasks as needed. h. Preparing, sorting, and distributing mail. i. Taking student photos for bus cards, handing out bus & parking tickets, and maintaining RTA spreadsheet. j. Preparing meeting rooms for community and board events. k. Ordering catering for board meetings and community events.
