Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness. If you have a passion for the legal field and possess strong organizational skills, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements
- Organize and maintain files and documents
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for attorneys
- Conduct legal research and compile data from various sources
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
- Manage attorney calendars and deadlines
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Answer phones and record messages
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Secretary or similar role
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in document management systems
- Strong clerical and organizational skills
- Ability to interview clients and witnesses to gather information
- Familiarity with Westlaw or other legal research platforms is a plus
- Certification as a paralegal is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- This role is in-person, 8 am
- 5pm, Monday through Friday. It is critical that the right candidate be able to make this commitment to time and attendance
