JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
One (1) to three (3) years of general office experience.
Skills:
Computer literacy required; excellent interpersonal skills; highly accurate and detail-oriented.
SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
These statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to the position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required. Receive and screen incoming calls; route to appropriate staff and provide information to callers. Greet visitors, determine the nature of business, and direct appropriately. Respond to inquiries from parents/guardians and school personnel using district guidelines and state-approved procedures. Provide clerical support for the school site including problem resolution, mail distribution, scheduling conferences and appointments, and preparing correspondence. Assist with distribution and organization of materials for substitute staff. Assist with data compilation and preparation of reports. Support staff with special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the site administrator.
ESSENTIAL BEHAVIOR
Ability to use sound judgment in any situation. Ability to deal successfully and rapidly with changes in assignments and properly respond to applicable correspondence and communication. Ability to project a professional district image through in-person, phone, and electronic interaction. Ability to build and foster harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with district staff and the public while achieving the objectives and goals of the position. Ability to handle problematic or difficult situations professionally by communicating with the appropriate person.
ATTENDANCE STATEMENT
Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Primarily indoor working conditions with no exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds frequently and 11–24 pounds occasionally for short distances. Standing for short periods of time. Walking as required to access equipment and perform responsibilities. Sitting for extended periods. Use of hands for fine motor tasks such as operating a computer. Strong hand-eye coordination. Talking and hearing to communicate in person and via telephone. Close, distance, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
