Job Description

Pipe Manufacturing Administrative Assistant Position Summary:
The Pipe Manufacturing Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations within a pipe manufacturing facility. This position supports production management, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and accounting functions while maintaining accurate records and assisting with internal communication. This role is based in an industrial shop environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to plant management and production supervisors Prepare and process work orders, production reports, and job packets Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials, and production data Enter data into company systems accurately and in a timely manner Assist with purchase orders, invoices, and vendor documentation Support shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading File and maintain employee and operational documentation Answer phones, greet visitors, and direct inquiries appropriately Assist with payroll timekeeping entry and verification Maintain office supply inventory and place orders as needed Coordinate communication between office and shop personnel Follow company policies and all safety procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous administrative experience preferred, preferably in manufacturing or industrial setting Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry systems, email) Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information professionally Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office located within a pipe manufacturing facility Shop is not climate controlled; exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise may occur Frequent interaction with shop personnel and equipment operations
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, phone, copier, and printer
