Job Description:
Phlebotomist Clerical Support Obtains blood specimens, in a courteous and professional manner, from patients of all age ranges.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision in all situations including traumas Must have legible handwriting Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Registered as a Certified Laboratory Phlebotomist with a national certification agency for medical laboratory personnel or the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or show proof of pending recertification preferred
EXPERIENCE
Working knowledge of, but not limited to: HIS and LIS computer Systems and related equipment, 5-line telephone, Vacutainer System-syringes, butterfly needles, safety needles, finger-heelstick devices, autoclave and bar code printers preferred
