Start Date:
September 3rd, 2026 Walter L. Kraxberger Middle School has a Registrar/Attendance Secretary Substitute opening beginning the week of September 3rd, 2026. The candidate selected for the substitute assignment will work intermittently during September, October, November, and December. This position includes specific days of the week to cover a protected leave. On workdays, the position requires full-day hours. There is a set schedule for the candidate to follow and the substitute assignment will be managed through ESS. Subsitute rate per the Classified Salary Schedule is fixed to Level M, Step 3 at $24.13. Job Goal:
Maintain student records, transcripts and data as registrar. Assist in the sound and smooth operation of the main office and to respond to the needs of students staff and parents.
Minimum Qualifications:
Sound oral and written communication skills. Sound human relations skills. Ability to learn, or knowledge of, Clackamas County Education Service District (CCESD) computer system including student record system. Experience operating computers, general office equipment and maintain a filing system. Ability to work well with students, parents and staff. Documented record of accuracy, reliability and initiative. High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years secretarial experience. Experience in educational setting is preferred.
Essential Functions:
Regular attendance and punctuality. Welcome and assist students, staff, parents and visitors. Health room duties when nurse or health assistant are absent from the building. Process new student registrations and records requests. Enter student schedules in the computer and prepare for fall registration. Establish and maintain records, reports and files. Maintain and update course/section data within the student information system. Purge files to make permanent files. Process progress reports/report cards. Maintain accurate enrollment data and state reports. Answer attendance office telephone, direct calls, record messages, provide information and obtain information from callers. Assist in answering main office telephone. Prepare student files for transfer upon withdraw from school. Responsible for collecting attendance by period and entering daily attendance into Synergy. Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in word processing, computers and their educational application. Experience with Word for Windows and Excel preferred. Ability to work harmoniously and tactfully with students, staff and parents. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Skill in keyboarding, filing and general operation of standard office equipment.
