POSITION SUMMARY
We are a Homecare agency looking to fill a Human Resources assistant position for our Erie, PA office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in personnel management or related field. Baccalaureate degree strongly preferred. Minimum of two (2) years experience in human resource coordination; preferably within a health care setting. Current knowledge of all state and federal employment laws including ADA and civil rights requirements. Knowledge of employment benefits and experience in workers' compensation claims. Effective communication skills (verbal and written), documentation skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for personnel in home health care. Bilingual- Spanish
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Conducts reference checks. Participates in the development of screening tools/tests to assess applicant knowledge and skills required for posted positions. Maintains applicant tracking system and statistics necessary to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and agency quality standards. Maintains personnel records for agency staff. Completes personnel files at time of hire. Assures documentation requirements are met for regulatory bodies and in compliance with local and federal laws. Assures employee confidentially is maintained and files are stored in secured area. Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures and professional and community standards. Accepts responsibility in accordance with the role of Human Resources Assistant. Assures personnel files are maintained accurately and completely. Demonstrates teamwork and effective communication to accomplish agency goals. Participates in agency/team meetings as required. Participates in agency orientation programs and development of materials to communicate agency information to new hires. Performs other activities and duties as deemed necessary.
