THE POSITION
The Clerical Assistant 3 for the Department of Transportation in Westmoreland County plays a key role in keeping daily operations organized and efficient. This position offers the chance to support important payroll and attendance processes that help the county workforce function smoothly. You will work with employees, supervisors, and managers to solve problems and maintain accurate records. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position centers on managing payroll, attendance, and leave information for staff across the county office. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
Timekeeping Support:
Maintain accurate payroll and attendance records for county employees
Issue Resolution:
Research data and correct payroll errors by reviewing SAP screens and reports
Employee Guidance:
Provide direction to employees and timekeepers regarding pay rules and leave procedures
Report Preparation:
Prepare and review leave balances, payroll outputs, and quota reports
Record Verification:
Check work orders, production units, and coding for accuracy before submission
FMLA Processing:
Monitor Family Medical Leave Act entries and coordinate with appropriate offices Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
