THIS POSITION IS POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AFSCME COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant 1 provides complex clerical and office support for the Eberly College of Business (ECOB) to ensure that the academic and administrative functions of the college are conducted efficiently and effectively. The primary focus of this AA1 is to support the Office of the ECOB Dean, whose goal is to serve the needs of all its constituents including students, faculty, staff, alumni/friends, international and local partners, advisory council members, and others. Review the PA Specifications for this Job Title. The above duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide general support to the Dean's Office including management of dean's calendar and scheduling. Liaise between deans, A-deans, Eberly Leadership Council (ELC), and clerical staff. Coordinate meetings, as needed. Maintain confidentiality. Provide support for the college's Business Advisory Council (BAC), Strategic Planning Council (SPC), and Advancement Council related activities. Support, jointly with College's other staff, college-level events such as the annual Business Day, periodic accreditation meetings, etc. Coordinate other college events, including refreshments, transportation, and communications. Support in preparing ELC meeting agendas and minutes. Supervise students in the dean's office. Support the global mission of the Eberly College of Business which has numerous international partners. Work in coordination with the staff members in the Eberly School of International Management (SIM), who has the primary responsibility for this duty. Serve as back-up to other department clerical and administrative staff. Gather and maintain appropriate evaluation materials from faculty, chairpersons, and the dean and submit completed reports to the provost's office. Perform related work, as required.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university. or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s). Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members. The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
