Job Description
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of special education records and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events for the Special Education team.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders regarding special education services and processes.
- Manage incoming correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and mail, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.
- Maintain organized filing systems for student records, reports, and other important documentation.
- Support the Special Education team in data entry and management of student information systems.
- Help prepare reports and presentations related to special education programs and services.
- Assist in the coordination of assessments, evaluations, and IEP meetings.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Special Education department. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably within an educational or special education setting.
- Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and processes is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
- Commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with student information and family matters.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours as required by the department.
