POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director partners with the Executive Director to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of Windy Hill Senior Center by providing leadership in operations, staff and volunteer supervision, program oversight, organizational communications, member engagement, and organizational administration. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and helps ensure the Center's mission is carried out through quality services, operational excellence, and exceptional member experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s) Collaborates with the Executive Director to sustain, promote, and grow Windy Hill Senior Center's programs, services, and community impact. Serves as Acting Director in the absence of the Executive Director, providing operational leadership and decision-making authority as assigned. Oversees the daily operations of the Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for members, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Supervises assigned staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, training, scheduling support, and guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery. Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises, and recognizes volunteers and community service workers to support organizational operations and programming. Works collaboratively with the Program Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs, activities, special events, educational presentations, and trips. Coordinates schedules and communication for contracted instructors, presenters, and program partners in collaboration with the Program Manager. Coordinates the development and distribution of the monthly newsletter and weekly eNews by gathering content from staff, preparing communications, and ensuring timely publication. Creates and coordinates promotional content, including photography, videos, flyers, digital signage, website updates, and social media content to highlight programs, services, special events, and organizational impact. Communicates operational updates, schedule changes, closures, program announcements, and other important information to members through multiple communication channels in collaboration with the Executive Director and Program Manager. Monitors program participation and member engagement, identifying opportunities to increase attendance, congregate meal participation, and overall member satisfaction. Assists the Executive Director with the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, special events, community outreach activities, and organizational projects. Collaborates with the Executive Director on marketing initiatives and outreach strategies to increase community awareness, member participation, and organizational visibility. Monitors program participation and member engagement, identifying opportunities to increase attendance, congregate meal participation, and member satisfaction. Assists with planning and coordinating fundraising events, community outreach activities, special events, and organizational projects. Assists with the development and monitoring of program and event budgets while promoting responsible stewardship of organizational resources. Drafts, updates, and implements employee, volunteer, and member policies and procedures for Executive Director review and approval. Addresses routine member concerns, resolves conflicts professionally, and consistently enforces organizational policies, procedures, and the Member Code of Conduct. Coordinates facility needs, communicates maintenance concerns, and helps ensure the Center remains clean, safe, and operational. Assists the Executive Director with contract compliance, data collection, reporting, accreditation requirements, and organizational documentation to ensure timely submission of required reports and maintain compliance with funding sources. Provides operational support across departments and assists with coverage during staff absences, increased workloads, or special projects. Maintains compliance with organizational policies and applicable safety, security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of Windy Hill Senior Center.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
Three to five years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience, preferably in a nonprofit, community-based organization, senior services, recreation, or human services setting. Experience supervising employees and volunteers. Experience coordinating programs, events, or community outreach activities.
Computer Skills:
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Excel, Access and Word and social media. Ability to master internal computer systems such as Copilot. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
