full-time Company Description A Step To Wellness is a psychiatric practice led by a nurse practitioner with over two decades of experience caring for individuals across the lifespan. The practice is dually certified in psychiatry and family medicine and is dedicated to improving the lives of people managing mental health disorders. Care is person-centered, grounded in active listening, thoughtful questioning, and current advancements in psychiatric treatment. The practice prescribes medications for a range of conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Services include same-day appointments and tele-psychiatry, with office hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Role Description The Administrative Assistant is a part-time, hybrid role based in Millersville, MD, with some work-from-home flexibility. The hours are 10am-2pm,Monday through Friday. This role supports daily operations by managing phone calls, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and coordinating tele-psychiatry sessions. The Administrative Assistant will maintain electronic and paper records, handle basic billing and insurance verification tasks, and prepare documents and forms as needed. Additional responsibilities include managing correspondence, organizing files, supporting the provider's calendar, and ensuring that the office environment is welcoming and efficient. The position requires professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered service. Qualifications Strong administrative assistant and clerical skills, including scheduling, record-keeping, and document management. Working knowledge of the insurance verification process Professional phone etiquette and communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare partners. Experience providing executive administrative assistance or office support in a healthcare or similar setting. Proficiency with basic computer applications, electronic health records, and telehealth platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage sensitive information, and work with minimal supervision. Post-secondary education or medical office experience is preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in a part-time hybrid work environment.
