Job Description
THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Laurel Highlands, is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support at our facility. This role allows you to take part in important office functions that keep the institution moving forward. Your efforts will help keep operations running smoothly each day. This position provides essential clerical and office support to keep the Education Department operating efficiently. You will assist with communication, scheduling, record keeping, and general office tasks that support daily activities. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:Phone and Mail:
Answer calls, direct inquiries, handle messages, and process incoming and outgoing mailDocument Support:
Prepare, review, correct, and distribute documents and assist with scanning and meeting materialsScheduling Tasks:
Coordinate appointments, meetings, videoconferences, and provide support with minutes and travel arrangementsRecord Management:
Maintain filing systems, update databases, enter reports, and process supply requestsOffice Coordination:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework:

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:
