DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on detailed clerical work that supports the accuracy and timeliness of financial and claim-related actions for multiple unemployment programs. It requires careful analysis, clear communication, and consistent record management. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
Case Review:
Analyze claim information, verify determinations, and resolve issues based on current laws and guidelines
Claim Adjustments:
Complete transactions to establish and adjust overpayments and benefit charges across various program types
Communication Support:
Respond to inquiries from claimants, employers, and agencies while following privacy and disclosure rules
Record Maintenance:
Maintain organized and accurate files, verify incoming mail, and process required documentation
Financial Processing:
Handle deposits, restitution payments, and benefit redeterminations to ensure correct application of funds
Technical Assistance:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Works hours may vary based on operational needs
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the required probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Duquesne. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
