Job Summary The Marin County Council of Mayors and Councilmembers (MCCMC) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and tech-savvy professional to serve as its Secretary/Treasurer.

The position supports MCCMC's monthly meetings, Legislative Committee coordination, records management, and basic financial administration. Day-to-day work is completed remotely. In-person attendance is required at the monthly MCCMC meeting, location rotates around Marin County, and the monthly meeting of the MCCMC Legislative Committee. We are looking for a strong administrative professional with excellent written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage recurring workflows with consistency and follow-through. Familiarity with Brown Act compliance, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Copilot, and AI productivity or automation tools is especially valuable. Estimated workload is approximately 20-30 hours per month, with negotiable hourly compensation and a monthly retainer not to exceed $2,500. For the right candidate, this role also offers a potential pathway into a broader future leadership role. Responsibilities Coordinate monthly council and committee meetings from agenda preparation through post-meeting follow-up. Prepare and distribute agendas, packets, minutes, and related communications. Manage meeting logistics, invitations, RSVPs, quorum tracking, and on-site support. Maintain official records, rosters, contact lists, and committee assignments. Provide administrative support for legislative committee coordination and tracking of priorities and follow-up items. Perform basic financial and recordkeeping tasks, including invoicing, dues tracking, and reimbursement processing. Support communications, website updates, onboarding materials, and other organizational needs. Use technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden. Requirements Experience supporting boards, commissions, councils, or other public agency bodies. Experience with Brown Act-compliant meeting administration. Experience with Microsoft Copilot and other AI productivity tools. •
Pay:
Up to $2,500.00 per month
